The People’s Dreaming Collective
Dreaming up more loving forms of democracy
Lulu Mickelson founded the People’s Dreaming Collective during her time as a Landecker Democracy Fellow. From the Collective’s website, “The People’s Dreaming Collective is a dynamic constellation of radical public sector leaders. Together, we are dreaming up more loving, inclusive, and participatory models for local democracy.”
For their logo, I chose similarly shaped symbols to evoke both pluralism and interconnection with human and non-human community, while also creating visual rhythm.
The colors are inspired by bright creatures in our local tide pools to evoke wonder, and were brightened to reflect immersive quality of dreaming. The typefaces — Autopia, Fengardo Neue, and Picnic — are all open source to be in alignment with the collective’s ethos of resource accessibility.

Implementation
The website’s goals were to introduce the Collective, and encourage two actions: read newsletter posts or fill out a google document to participate with the collective.
I organized the information to start with the Dreaming Collectives high level description, immediately followed by two call-to-actions, which are then repeated in the website footer.
